Virtual Reality Begins To Evolve With The New Oculus Quest 2 Headset

Oculus prepares to launch its highest tech stan-alone VR headset to date with the all-new Oculus Quest 2, dropping On October, 13th 2020

The all-new virtual reality headset from Oculus appears to not only be an update from 2019's Oculus quest but a complete replacement of the company's previous two stand-alone headsets.

Oculus has already announced the discontinuation of its media streaming headset, Oculus Go. But you now can't get an original quest either.

But, there seems to be some good news with Quest 2, it launches with a starting price of $299 for the 64GB model or $399 for the 256GB model. A lot cheaper than when the quest launched in 2019. If the price isn't enough to sell you on Quest 2, perhaps the many updated features that the headset packs inside will catch your eye.

Quest 2 is said to have a 4k resolution and is believed to be a revolutionary stand-alone VR device running on Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2, state-of-the-art technology. No doubt this is not the end of VR development but is the beginning. Oculus will be on the front lines of technological development, pushing the boundaries and innovating beyond what we currently think is possible.

From 2020 to 2025, we will see all sorts of new VR tech from the industry, some will stick around while others will fade off into the background. Some, such as the Quest and Go will serve as early prototypes for future technology.

With a price tag such as this one, we do expect the first batch or two will sell out quickly if they haven't already. $299.00 is more than a fair price for a device such as Quest 2.
